Functions of AI Trendradar
This tool can be used to create completely individual Trendradars with integrated AI evaluation and evaluation options for any number of participants. The AI Trendradar offers numerous design options:
-
- Trend creation, trend selection or trend integration with AI support: you can access the existing INNO-VERSE megatrends and macrotrends, integrate your own or customized trends, or have additional trends created with AI (the AI searches the web and accesses trend studies, for example)
- Number of trends: the number of trends in the Trendradar can be freely determined
- Evaluation dimensions: the evaluation dimensions of the trends (e.g. influence) can be freely determined
- Evaluation by participants: any number of participants can evaluate the trends in the Trendradar
- Evaluation by AI: the trends can be evaluated by AI
- Presentation of the results: various display options including export function
- AI forecasts and strategies for each trend: the AI creates further forecasts, opportunities and risks for each trend on the radar individually for each research topic
Create AI Trendradars
- Go to the dashboard / tools / one of your workspaces and click on the Create new + button in the top right corner.
- Select the location (workspace / folder) where you want to create the AI Trendradar
- Select "AI Trendradar" and click on Create +
Define the trends
You will be taken to the AI-supported creation screen and guided through the following creation steps:
- Enter the organisation or company for which the trend radar is to be created (e.g. the industry, the company name, brand)
- Enter the topics to be considered (e.g. business area, industry, markets, trends)
- Optionally, integration of current documents, such as market analyses, etc. (These documents are taken into account by the AI when generating trends)
- Adding a URL (the URL is searched by the AI during trend generation)
- Define the trend list: Select from the following options:
- Select trends from hub with AI: Based on your input, the AI selects the appropriate trends from the existing trend list (mega and macro trends) of your hub.
- Generate new trends with AI: The AI carries out a web search based on your input and creates completely new specific trends on the topic.
- Manual selection: The AI does nothing, you select the trends manually from the list.
- (For options 1 and 2:) Presentation of the trend set proposal - now you have the option of manually adding trends or removing trends from the proposal
- Confirmation of the finished trendset
- Set the title of the radar, the status, and optionally the title image
With these steps, the trend radar is basically complete. In the next steps, participants can be added and macro trend questions can be customised or freely defined.
Select trend radar mode: Default and Advanced.
There are 2 different modes available for workspace administrators in the radar settings:
- Default AI Trendradar: ("advanced mode" is deactivated) this trend radar is only visible to the creator (status private), no further participants can be added
- Advanced mode: in this mode, any number of participants can be added, segments can be created and the status can be set to public (public means that any workspace participant can join themselves)
Workspace members can only create default AI Trendradars.

The trend selection can be customized and new trends can be added here. You can find out how to do this here.
Working with the AI Trendradar
The aim of the Trendradar is to determine the most important trends for the selected organization or to create a ranking of trends. Trendradars offer the following work steps for this purpose:
- AI evaluation of the Trendradar
- Participant evaluation of the Trendradar
- Presentation and interpretation of the results
- Conclusion from the results
The AI Trendradar is subdivided into the following views:
- Basic information: Topic and description of the trend radar
- Results: Presentation of results in different variants
- Conclusion: Interpretation and strategic conclusions from the results (can only be edited by the Radar Manager)
AI Evaluation
The manager of the radar can start the AI evaluation via the Start button at the bottom right of the title screen. The results are generated within a few minutes and are displayed in the “AI” segment of the results view.
Participants evaluation
Every member and every manager of the radar can start or adjust the trend evaluation via the Start evaluation button on the right-hand side of the title screen.
Presentation and interpretation of the results

Conclusion from results
The conclusion page includes the option of drawing strategic conclusions and a jointly approved trend assessment (group assessment) based on the trend assessments. Two conclusion tools are available:
- Final Conclusion: Text field for entering conclusions for the radar manager
-
Conclusion Chart: Chart with 2 freely selectable dimensions:
- Dimensions for the axes can be selected
- All segments used in the radar (AI, team, etc.) can be selected as the basis for evaluating the trends
- The evaluations of the trends in the chart can be moved freely for discussion purposes, making it possible to develop a joint evaluation
Possibilities as Radar manager
- Managers create radars, define the radar's goal and the respective task, select the trends to be evaluated, and define the evaluation questions and qualitative questions.
- They manage the participants and their roles:
- Roles: Manager, team member, guest, read-only
- Active and inactive: Evaluations of inactive participants are not visible, but can be made visible again by switching to “active.” By “leaving” the trend radar, a participant can set themselves to ‘inactive’ but cannot set themselves back to “active” independently.
- They determine in the settings what should be displayed in the radar (participant list, AI evaluations, segments, innovation examples, summary page).
- Managers control the process and the results of the participants. Managers can use the participant statistics to track the participants' evaluation progress and download the evaluation results.
- Managers evaluate the results and select the desired diagram types. They also lead an optional discussion of the overall results in the group of participants.
- They can access the Trend Details page after the evaluation and derive the strategic conclusions for each trend.
- Radar managers can also edit the conclusion page and show or hide it for all other Radar participants
Possibilities as Team Member
- Team members evaluate the trends specified by the manager according to the radar task. They study the individual trends and give their assessment of influence, competencies and other criteria.
- Each team member can access the results page, see their own results and the segments that the manager has approved.
- Team members can also access the trend details page and see the AI-generated conclusions or the manager's final conclusions.
- Team members can leave the radar independently. They remain visible to managers under “inactive” participants. The ratings remain stored, but are only visible if the participant is set back to “active” by the manager.
Possibilities as Guest
- Radar guests evaluate the trends specified by the manager according to the radar's task. They study the individual trends and give their assessment of influence, competencies and other criteria.
- Guests land directly on the evaluation sheet when they enter the radar. They see neither the basic information nor the results of the radar.
- Guests can leave the radar independently. They remain visible to managers under “inactive” participants. The ratings remain stored but are only visible if the guest is set back to “active” by the manager.
Read only
Participants with the ‘Read only’ role can - as the name suggests - only read the results.
