Functions of Innoboards
Innoboards allow groups of people to work together on problems and develop solutions and ideas. The possibilities of this tool are similar to a real board or pinboard; participants have the possibility to post contributions (text, images, attachments) on any topic and according to any methodology on virtual Innoboards. These contributions can be shared with other participants on the Innoboard, each contribution can be commented on and rated according to freely selectable criteria.
Application possibilities
The Innoboards can be used for any type of collaboration in small or large groups, the working method is freely selectable and can be customised in the boards.
-
Possible applications in terms of content
- Creation of ideas and solutions with groups and/or with the help of AI
- Further development of ideas and solutions with groups and/or with the help of AI
- Collection of contributions, ideas and content on a topic
-
Organisational application options
- Realisation of practically any form of group work or discussion
- Group size is open at the top, i.e. contributions can also be collected in much larger groups than in analogue workshops or events
- Collection of contributions, ideas and content on a topic
- Evaluation and selection of contributions, ideas, proposed solutions etc. in the group
Examples for Innoboards in reality are.
- Brainstorming and any other form of idea development
- Idea collection and idea management
- Mapping of innovation processes
- Product development of a single product
- Developing solutions for freely definable problems
- Joint creation of concepts and strategies
- Collecting, clustering and evaluating external ideas or suggestions
- etc.
Create Innoboards
Innoboards can be created from the workspaces or directly on the Tools page:
- Open the mask for tool creation via the Create New + button
- Select the location where you want to save the Innoboard (workspace / folder)
- Select "Innoboards" and click on Create
- Select the template that best suits your task and click the arrow at the bottom right to continue (>)
- Innoboard templates:
- Default Innoboard: Generate ideas - optionally with AI - on a topic you give him
- Business model canvas: Create - optionally with AI - business models using the canvas approach
- Business Model Development: Create - optionally with AI - business models using the IMP approach
- Nightmare Competitor: Create - optionally with AI - "nightmare" competitors
- Scenario Builder: Create - optionally with AI - future scenarios
- PESTEL: a tool used to evaluate external factors that may influence an organization's operations. The process involves identifying and assessing six key factors: political, economic, social, technological, ecological, and legal aspects
- SWOT analysis is a simple yet powerful tool used to evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) that impact an organization, product, project, or any given situation.
- Market development strategy: involves creating a completely new product or service and introducing it to an already established market. For this approach, it is essential that the organization thoroughly understands the market and the user segment it aims to target.
- Market penetration strategy: focuses on growth. It is designed to be implemented in an already established market with an established product. The level of risk involved here is relatively low.
- Innoboard templates:
- Define the title, the description (this text is used by CoCreator (our AI) as basic information for prompting), the start and end date and the status (private, public) of the board
- Publish the Innoboard or carry out further configurations
Innoboard types
Depending on the user's authorization level in the workspace (admin or member), two different Innoboard types are available:
- Default Innoboard: This type is intended for the private use of a user and can also be created in the role of "team member" with just a few clicks. The Default Innoboard can only be used to create posts; all other setting options are not available.
Workspace members may only create Innoboards in default mode. - Advanced Innoboard: This type can only be created and managed by workspace administrators and includes all the setting options described above. All the following information relates to the advanced Innoboard.
The Innoboard Header Menu
After opening or creating an Innoboard, the home page appears with the header menu:
-
Innoboard Information: provides a brief overview of the Innoboard, including
- Name
- Description
- a discussion forum (chat function)
- Attachment Area
- Links to Collections
- View Ratings
- View Tags
- Posts: This takes you to the post display page
-
Options:
- Settings: Access to general settings and participant management
- Pin: Pins the notebook to your dashboard (quick access)
- Pin for Everyone: This option is available if you are a workspace administrator and the notebook has the “public” status. The notebook will be pinned to the dashboard for all hub users (quick access)

Configuring and setting up the Innoboards
Once an Innoboard has been created, a range of setting options are available via the settings menu (3-point menu):
Settings
The title, description and status (private or public) of the Innoboard as well as the editing period (start and end date) can be defined here. The administrator can also decide whether the CoCreator should be activated or deactivated for all Innoboard participants. It can also be decided whether the Advanced mode should be activated for this Innoboard. This allows further settings, such as customizing tags, ratings, inviting other users and much more.
Participants
Any number of participants can be added to an Innoboard. Participants who are already users of the hub can be found in a selection menu and are added by clicking on them. External participants can also be added here directly with their name and email address and are automatically created as hub guests. Participants can be assigned different roles (manager, member, guest, read only), the creator of the board is automatically the manager. Messages to participants are also possible via bulk actions.
Contribution card
The contribution card, i.e. the "virtual posting" that participants publish on the Innoboard, can be edited. Text fields (tags) with freely definable designations can be added and deleted. This allows Innoboards to be used for a wide variety of working methods and tasks; the contribution card can be designed as a template for everything from simple brainstorming to complex strategy templates.
Tags
All posts on a board can be tagged or categorized. The tags and their color assignment are freely selectable.
Evaluation dimensions
Posts on the board can be rated by all participants and the manager. The evaluation criteria are freely definable, a numerical rating or a star rating is offered for selection. For each post, your own ratings and the average ratings of all participants are displayed directly.
Working with Innoboards - Manager role
- Managers create Innoboards and define the respective tasks and their duration. They determine and manage the participants and their roles.
- They specify the working method and methodology through the Innoboard description and the design of the contribution cards; assessment criteria and tags are also entered by the manager. There are a number of templates for the methodology to choose from.
- Managers also moderate and shape the work of team members by clustering (tagging) their contributions, commenting on them or addressing team members directly.
Working with Innoboards - team member role
The team members work on the tasks on the Innoboards. They enter posts according to the specified methodology (including images, attachments, links, etc.), comment on and rate contributions of others.
Using the AI-CoCreator in Innoboards
"Develop post step by step"
- CoCreator asks you for further information/keywords to be used as a prompt (in addition to the Innoboard description) and then creates a text suggestion for each individual text field
- The buttons "Insert and continue", "No, adjust", "Retry" allow you to edit each text field interactively with CoCreator
- The finished post is marked as an AI post, but can be further modified in edit mode
"Generate entire post"
- The CoCreator will ask you for more information/keywords to be used as a prompt (in addition to the Innoboard description) and then create a full post for you
- The finished post is marked as an AI post, but can be further modified in edit mode
Using the AI-Chat in the Innoboard
The CoCreator button at the bottom right also contains the AI chat for the respective Innoboard. This AI chat can access the entire content of the Innoboard, the content in the hub (articles) and also the internet. There are numerous possible uses for this:
- Search for content in the entire Innoboard
- Evaluation of ideas by the AI chat
- Selection of ideas according to individual criteria
- Qualitative content analysis of the Innoboard
- Search for similar ideas on the internet
- Reality check of ideas on the internet
- Comparison of ideas with INNO-VERSE content
