Overview of the dashboard
The dashboard offers a range of features and direct access to tools and content in the hub:
Onboarding Cards: Various cards are presented here to help users with their first steps in the Hub or with new features in the software. The cards can be defined by the hub administrator and either display an image or a video or can be linked as required - e.g. to content in the hub or to external websites.
Pinned tools: Every Hub user now has the option of pinning particularly important or popular tools to the dashboard. This works via the three-dot menu ("Options") > "Pin".
Hub administrators also have the option "Pin for all". On the dashboard, you can then switch between the two options "Pinned tools for all" and "Pinned tools".
Recent Tools: Lists the tools you have recently accessed.
Workspaces: Quick access to the available workspaces (workspaces in which you are already a participant and workspaces that are publicly accessible).
Designing the Dashboard
Dashboard settings for hub administrators
The "Dashboard" submenu can be found under Settings in the hub administration. Here you can enable or disable the widgets listed above.
Onboarding Cards
Cards can be added, edited or deleted here. The order of the cards can also be changed. Click + add onboarding card or edit card to access the input screen with the following fields:
- Card icon: Icon that is displayed above the heading
- Card title
- Card description
- Action: Here you can select what exactly the field should do:
- Open link (internal or external): Reference to an internal or external link (this action opens the additional fields URL and the selection of whether the link should be opened in a new tab or in the same tab)
- Display a Youtube video (opens the additional fields URL and an optional text field)
- Display an image (opens an upload button and an optional text field)
Widgets
Here, the individual widgets ("Pinned Tools" and "Recent Tools + Workspaces") can be shown or hidden and the order can be changed.
If the hub administrator activates the Allow members to overwrite option, the hub participants can overwrite the settings made in the administration: Widgets can be individually hidden and the order of the widgets can be changed. However, the onboarding cards always remain at the top and cannot be hidden completely.
Dashboard frontend settings for users
Complete onboarding cards
A card can be closed by clicking on the X symbol. If there are more than three cards , the 4th card moves up after closing a card.
Restarting onboarding cards
If all onboarding cards are closed, the restart button can be clicked via the user settings (user name or profile picture at the top right) under "Dashboard" to make all original cards visible again.
Moving or hiding tools and workspaces
If the hub administrator has activated the Allow members to overwrite button in the hub settings, all hub participants will see a magic wand at the top next to the "Dashboard" heading. If you click on it, the widgets Pinned Tools and Recent Tools, Workspaces can be hidden ("Hide") or the order can be changed using the arrow keys.
